COLLOCATIONS AND EXPRESSIONS WITH THE WORD "DO"

We use the word "DO" for duties,routine and repetitive tasks,general activities,individual sports. "DO"  is also used with "something","nothing","everything" and "anything". Dialogue Conversations

 Communication skill can be developed by learning and practicing Dialogues,Phrases and Common expressions in English.I will  give some dialogue examples and also explain the meaning of the phrase and word used if necessary. DIALOGUE 1:   Speaker A: Just pay attention , please. Speaker B: I have been paying attention. PAY ATTENTION is a phrase. PAY ATTENTION  TO :  Meaning :   a) to take notice of someone or something.   b) to listen  and watch something or someone very  carefully. Examples: 1.She was not paying attention to the lecture. 2.Jack did not pay attention to the warnings printed on the label. 3.Lucy was not paying attention to the instructions.

VOCABULARY IN CONTEXT

 Learning VOCABULARY IN CONTEXT means that you learn new words,phrases and expressions when you are reading or listening and you will know how they are used in a sentence. When we learn a isolated word without a context,we may remember its meaning but you would not be able to use the words or phrases to create a complete sentence when we speak or write. When you have more information about the word,you  can remember it and start incorporating that word into your writing and  also you will be having more words to use  in your conversation. Context-Based learning helps you to  better articulate your thoughts and easy remembering of new words or phrases. Reading gives me an amazing feeling .I read fiction,non fiction and also informational texts. I am a movie buff and watch English-language movies .When I come across any new words, phrases etc,I write it down .Then I check  the meaning of that word  in a dictionary and take notes immediately.When you comp...

PHRASES and PHRASAL VERBS RELATED TO MOVEMENT

Phrasal verbs are extremely important and very common in conversations. A single phrasal verb can have multiple meanings . I will start some phrasal verbs with example sentences first and you can make  a connection between the phrasal verbs and its usage.Instead of learning a phrasal verb with its multiple meanings at a time, we can learn  their individual meaning  in terms of its context because our brain needs connections to absorb the information quickly. We can also learn phrasal verbs by grouping them .  Let us learn some phrasal verbs. 1.WALK ALONG (SOMETHING) Meaning :Move forwards or continue to progress on foot from one end to the other end of something. Examples 1.He walked along the street until he reached the postoffice. 2.They went for a romantic walk along the beach. 2.WALK AWAY  (FROM SOMEONE/SOMETHING) Meaning:To leave someone or something by walking; to leave a difficult or unpleasant situation or relationship instead of dealing with it. MY PASSION for ENGLISH

    I have a passion for English language.I feel that this language iitself  is more  beautiful.My friend wanted to learn English from me.She knows basic English but she wanted to develop her vocabulary and use it in her social life. I started writing every day expressions, phrases, phrasal verbs, collocations and advanced english words in note books. I watched many english-language movies with subtitles and noted the important expressions they use. I started looking at the meaning of those words along with example sentences in English online dictionaries. I have written many such notebooks and I want to document in a blog, so that it might be helpful to those who wants to learn them. My Favorite online English dictionaries are Macmillan, Cambridge, Collins and Longman I love to share whatever I have learnt in the subsequent blogs.
