FOOD VOCABULARY

1.She boiled down the stew to make it more flavorful.

Boil Down = To reduce a liquid by cooking it to a thick sauce.


2.Keep an eye on the milk.Otherwise,it will boil over.

Boil over = To cause liquid to overflow or flow over the side of a container while boiling.


3.Cook the mixture until the liquid has boiled away.

Boil away all the water while stir-frying the vegetable.

Boil away = To boil until all liquid is gone so that it evaporates.


4.Chop up your favourite fruits into small pieces and put them in a glass of water for a flavourful twist of regular water.This fruit-infused water will be refreshing.

Chop up =  To cut into pieces.

Warm up = Reheat previously cooked food.

Cool down =  Become less hot.

Let food cool down before putting it in the fridge or freezer.

Eat up = Finish eating all the food on one's plate or eat all the food that you have been given.

Eat out = To eat a meal outside of one's home especially in a restaurant.


10.She has cut back on fat and sugar to lose weight.

Cut back on = Reduce the amount of something.


11.If you want to eat healthy , cut down on fatty food.

Eat healthy = Eat foods that are healthy.

Cut down on = to reduce the amount of something.


12. Stay away from packaged foods. Focus on whole foods.Focus on eating healthy food.

Stay away from (something) = to avoid something.

Focus on (somethinhg) = to give a lot of attention to something.
